Proctored Exams
The University of New Mexico Valencia Center offers proctoring services for distance education courses. We are available to proctor paper/pencil exams as well as on-line exams.
Proctoring services provided by UNM Valencia Assessment Center for UNM Online classes are not subject to proctoring fees. At the UNM Valencia Assessment Center, proctoring is done by appointment only. Seats are limited and appointments should be scheduled 1-2 weeks in advance.
Procedure for External Proctored Exams (Paper/Pencil Exam or Computer/On-line Testing):
- Schedule an appointment to take your exam with the UNM Test Administrator at least 2-3 weeks in advance.
- Check with the test administrator to verify that all necessary testing materials such as exams and/or passwords have been sent/received at least 1-2 days before your scheduled appointment.
- Inform the school/instructor to e-mail the UNM Test Administrator directly and to put your name (examinee's name) in the subject line for all email correspondence.
- The student and their institution are responsible for providing all relevant exam content and guidelines to the assessment center in a timely manner.
If your school/institution does not send the exam, username, password, or other necessary instructions to administer your exam, your scheduled appointment will be postponed. Your exam will need to be rescheduled for another test date. The Assessment Center is not responsible for canceled or postponed exam appointments due to not receiving the necessary information from the student and/or institution.
