CLEP Testing

The College Level Examination Tests provide an opportunity for students to earn college credit by examination. All CLEP exams are computer-based and available to all UNM students, those from other institutions and the surrounding community.

CLEP charges a $93 online testing fee payable by credit card. Testing is 90 minutes, and score results are available immediately. Students can request one official transcript sent to the institution of their choice at the time of testing.

CLEP tests are scheduled by appointment only. To schedule your test, please contact the Test Administrator.

UNM grants credit to newly admitted and regularly enrolled students who achieve passing scores on the CLEP exams for specific subjects. For a list of approved CLEP credits for UNM, please stop by the Student Services front desk.

The total number of CLEP hours granted toward a student’s degree is at the discretion of their degree-granting college. Students should contact their college advisors for specific information.
