First Aid Information

In the event of injury or other medical emergency, limited Basic Life Saving (BLS) care and First Aid can be provided by UNM-V Police, to include the use of AED and methods for bleed control. Immediately call UNM-V Police and 911 if necessary.

Presence of Animals

Individuals are prohibited from bringing pets on campus that are deemed dangerous or a nuisance.  Anyone violating this policy will be required to immediately leave UNM-V property and is subject to disciplinary action as per the Student Code of Conduct, UNM Policy, and/or legal action if the pet causes harm or injury.

Children on Campus

Do not leave children unsupervised at any time when on campus attending classes or conducting other business.  If deemed a matter of abuse, neglect, or abandonment, UNM-V Police will take appropriate steps with CYFD and with the corresponding Dean or Director. 

Restricted Activities

Individuals are prohibited from using roller skates, roller blades, or wheeled forms of transportation, except those needed to assist individuals with physical impairments.  All bicycles and motorized vehicles should be parked in designated areas.  Anyone violating this policy will be subject to disciplinary action as per the Student Code of Conduct, UNM Policy, and/or legal action if the use of such modes of conveyance cause property damage or injury.

Smoking on Campus

UNM-V is designated as smoke-free, though there are designated areas posted on the east and west side of campus, and parking lots.  This includes tobacco, vape devices, and the use of cannabis.  Anyone violating this policy will be subject to disciplinary action as per the Student Code of Conduct, UNM Policy, and/or legal action.
