Film & Media Camp

At Film and Media Camp, young creators dive into the exciting world of filmmaking—learning everything from storytelling basics and camera tricks to Foley sound effects, voice acting, and green screen magic. Campers work together to produce their own short films and showcase them in a red-carpet-style Film Festival & Awards event. It’s a week of creativity, collaboration, and movie-making fun. Each day, you'll set out on adventures across campus—writing under shady trees, hunting for story sparks in scavenger hunts, and discovering the secrets of great storytelling through hands-on, creative activities. Ceramics and Fibers Camp
Date: July 14 - July 25 (two-week session, Monday-Friday only), 9:00 AM - 1:30 PM
Location: UNM-Valencia Campus, Los Lunas, NM
Students will gain foundational knowledge in ceramics—learning studio basics, hand-building techniques like coil and scrape pots, and glazing methods—as well as explore the evolution and cultural significance of weaving through hands-on fiber arts.
Ceramics: Students will be provided with basic information about the studio. Additionally, they will learn the basics of hand building coil and scrape pots. They will also learn how to make some pots that are glazed instead of polished.
Fibers: Through hands-on activities, students will learn about the evolution of weaving technologies and the cultural significance of textiles.
