Dr. Andisheh Dadashi has been selected to receive the 2025-2026 Teaching Excellence Award for Open Communication and Assessment. The award carries high honor and recognizes her valuable contributions as a classroom instructor and leader at the University of New Mexico.
Students and colleagues provided strong evidence demonstrating her significant positive impact on student learning. Her commitment to students and her development of innovative teaching techniques impressed the committee.
One committee member commented that Dr. Dadashi helps create “learning sanctuaries” through a dynamic digital ecosystem that is both innovative and effective for real-time communication. The committee also noted that her expectations are clear and that her syllabus is well organized. Reviewers found her use of QR codes particularly effective in promoting honest, two-way communication. Another committee member remarked that they were impressed by the way she explains course design to students and provides feedback in a timely, formative, and dialogic format.
An in-person award ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, April 8, from 4 to 6 p.m. The ceremony will celebrate teaching excellence at the University, where Dr. Dadashi will be publicly recognized for her teaching achievements. Congratulations.
