Duncan-Teller receives national biology teachers award

UNM-Valencia faculty member Tammi Duncan-Teller will receive the 2025 Two-Year College Biology Teacher Award from the National Association of Biology Teachers.

The associate of science in emergency medical services degree provides the first two years of study for a student who plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in emergency medical services at UNM-Main. The curriculum is designed to teach and train paramedic leaders to be better prepared to handle the realities of a new era in prehospital medicine. Graduates will have the breadth of knowledge to think independently, and to push the development of emergency medical services. The program prepares students to advance to higher levels of education.
Intended to prepare graduates to meet the professional educational needs of pre-hospital care providers, the associate of science in emergency medical services meets 2009 National EMS Educational Standards requirements and incorporates EMT scope of practice.
