Search LIBROS
The library catalog, LIBROS, is the search engine for browsing the library (kind of like Google). No matter what you are looking for, the LIBROS catalog is a good place to start because it can tell you several things:
- if the library has what you're looking for and in what edition or format
- if there is a physical copy in available, where it is (Location and Call Number),and if it is checked out
- if the library has an electronic version, it provides a link to download it
- if the item is available at another library, it can be requested through Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
Search Tips
If you do not find what you are looking for, ask your Librarians for help.
- Choose your most important keywords, consider synonyms.
- Take advantage of LoC subject headings and Boolean operators.
- Use "Advanced Search" to combine search terms.
- Limit results by date, material type (books, visual materials).
- Search people "Last name, first name."
- When you find an item, note complete call number, location and if item is available.
