Coding

The programming coding camp will give you hands-on experience with the basic skills needed to write apps for mobile devices.   You'll have the opportunity to create visual interfaces, respond to user input, and apply program logic in the language used for Apple devices. Bring  your iPhone if you have one! If not, you can use a simulation for testing.

Internet of Things (IoT)

Networking Devices to the Internet

Covers basics of PC networking, the Internet, and programmable devices (ex. Raspberry Pi’s). Labs will cover connecting devices such as cameras, sensors, locks, thermostats, wi-fi, switches, and thermostats to home networks and the Internet

Cyber Security

Introduces basic computer networking, the Internet, and cyber threats. Will cover protecting networks from common threats and how to use free Open Source security tools.

3D Printing

If you are interested in 3D printing this two-day workshop is a good way to learn the basics.

The workshop will answer the following key questions (and more):

What can I make with a 3D printer?

What materials are used for 3D prints?

Where can I find free 3D printable designs?

Can I make my own custom designs?

What steps do I have to follow to 3D print a design?

We will be using five 3D printers for the hands-on portion of the workshop.

Rooftop Solar for Homeowners

If you are a homeowner thinking about adding a solar system to your roof, this workshop can answer your questions.

The workshop will answer the following key questions (and more):

Is your house suitable for a rooftop solar system?

How many solar panels will you need?

How much will your system cost?

Can you completely offset your electric bill?

Is rooftop solar a better investment than the stock market?

At the end of this workshop you will have a layout of a rooftop solar system for your own house.
