  3. Determine which site you preferred and report to the class
    • Name of site
    • Why you prefer that site
    • What criteria do you use to evaluate a resource?
    • How did these sites meet the criteria?

  2. Use TRAP worksheet or other resource for help in evaluating the articles.
  3. Pay particular attention to credibility or authority as a criteria.
  5. Vote for the "best" article.
  6. Be prepared to defend your choice.

Finding Sources Using Databases and Search Engines

  • Search "career" and "profile."
  • Use multiple words for "choose" and connect them with "or in one box -- "choos* or select* or choice or find*"
  • Search for specific task(s) and "career".
  • Search for "career" and "day in the life."
  • Search "career" and specific aspects (stress, continuing education, etc,)
  • Search "career" and educa* or train*.
  • Search the web for organizations/associations the professionals in your career may belong.
  • Look for articles or organizations that "rank" colleges to determine. (U.S. News & World Report)
  • Use a different box for each component of your search topic.
  • Limit by "full text."
