Business, Technology, and Fine Arts (BTFA)

The Business, Technology and Fine Arts Division believes in the value of education and strives to ensure all students develop the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed.  Value based education is an approach to teaching that works with creating a strong learning environment that enhances academic attainment, and develops students' social and relationship skills that last a lifetime.  Working with industry partners, The BT&FA Division collaborates on creating curriculum that engages students and prepares them to enter the workforce and/or four-year institutions.

The mission of the Business, Technology, and Fine Arts Division is:

To ensure the skills and knowledge of all students in CTE/STEAM (Career Technology Education/Science Technology Engineering Art and Math) and Academic Certificate and Degree Programs meet current industry standards, enabling graduates to receive a high wage entry-level industry positions and/or to continue their degrees at four-year institutions.

The goals of the Business, Technology, and Fine Arts Division are to:

  • Provide students with a meticulous CTE (Career Technical Education) curriculum that provides high wage upon entry into the workforce
  • Work with business partners to develop CTE curriculum to meet specific industry standards including STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math)
  • Integrate academic programs with CTE/STEAM programs with project based learning to provide interdisciplinary courses for advancement in the work force and/or four year colleges
  • Monitor student success through assessment and performance measures
  • Assimilate career advisement with academic and career enhancement to strengthen student success
